Final Daikoku Futo meeting in december

Here are some pictures of the final meeting that was held on the Daikoku Futo rest stop in Japan. The first privately owned R35 was present alongside some other special Skyline’s.

The R34 Skyline with the MPIII colour is from a ‘forum’ friend and you will see some more pictures of that awesome car in a later post. I can tell you already that it was built by Top Secret 🙂

The first picture shows the R35 alongside it’s older brothers the R34 and the R33. You can see that the R35 is alot bigger and higher than the other cars.

More Mine’s R35 GT-R pictures

More pictures of the Mines’s R35 GT-R surfaced today.

Mine’s also announced that they will have two R35 GT-R’s on display during the Tokyo Auto Salon in January next year. Between now and then they will develop the first tuning parts for the R35. They will also display their famous BNR34 Time Attack Skyline.

Sumo Power 350Z Time Attack Battle

The people behind Sumopower just got back from Japan. Where they competed in the Revspeed Time Attack series on Tsukuba. This was their first outing on Tsukuba and for a first timer they did very well. They achieved a time of 1.03 with Tarzan Yamada behind the wheel.

Offcourse this is great news for the Time Attack series itself and for Sumopower because they worked so hard to get to this stage. In the UK they have their own Time Attack series and hopefully some of the Japanese competitors will join them to drive on the UK circuits.

Although we didnt hit our target, I am pleased that on Monday Tarzan Yamada drove our 350Z for a session and managed a 1.03. OK it took more sessions for me to catch up but I am really pleased to match Tarzan’s time in the car so Ive come away happy that I drove the car 110% on the edge (as those who were there may have witnessed with my large ‘do or die’ lap at the end in which I exited the last fast corner broadside towards the wall) I also believe that with more sessions for us all, we would have seen the times fall further without a doubt.

Sumo Power was not alone in their battle on the Tsukuba track. They were together with Zen Performance (Subaru), Fensport (Celica) and RC development (Evo).

 I am looking forward to next year where they will hopefully break the one minute barrier

Sunline R35 GT-R

The Japanese Powerhouse Sunline Racing has received there R35 GT-R. Yesterday they had a photoshoot and Sunline put some stickers on the car. Prepare to see some interesting tuning parts from Sunline when they are starting to produce tuning parts for this car.

Sunline already made a widebody carbon R34, Time attack S15 and they are now working on their GT350Z project. But more on those cars later.
