ASM Tsukuba Special S2000

A viewer of my blog asked me if I could post some more info about the ASM Time Attack S2000. He also asked if I had some under carriage pictures. Too bad I do not have those

I will start with explaining what ASM is. ASM is a tuning brand that is being marketed by Autobacs Yokohama. ASM is specialised in making parts for the S2000 and BMW. Their award winning S2000 you see in the pictures uses a Toda build 2.4 liter engine. In the latest Time Attack held by Revspeed on the Tsukuba track it recorded a time of 0:57:422. Remember that the car is NA, it finished seven overal.

The bodykit is made out of carbon to keep the weight down

Here you see Fly taking pictures of the car. Fly is a famous free lance photographer, I met him once during the D1GP in the UK on Silverstone.

Tokyo Auto Salon 2008 Best Tuner Car

The best Tuner Car award went to RE Amemiya with their Super Greddy III FD RX7, it wouldn’t be my first choice. But I’m sure there went alot of work into this car.

Second place went to Weld with their incredible build Chaser.

Third place went to K2 Meister with a really clean Subaru Legacy. Unfortunatly I do not have any pictures of this car

Tokyo Auto Salon 2008 Best Import Car

During the Tokyo Auto Salon, the Nippon Auto Parts Aftermarket Comittee (NAPAC) chooses the best cars in certain categories. In the categorie Best Import Car, the Ericsson M480 concept BMW M3 took the win.

Congratz to Ericsson, they sure have earned this award because their demo car looks stunning

The second place went to the HKS BMW E46 Supercharger

And third place went to the WALD Mercedes CL

Train trip through Japan

What do you get when you combine a train trip, Chemical Brothers and a videocamera. You get this video that Clashproduction made when they visited Japan. First they traveled to Power Vehicles and from there the traveled by train to Tokyo for the Tokyo Auto Salon.

Never knew that a video could be this relaxing 🙂
