Mine’s sets new laptime on Fuji Speedway

During the HKS 35th Anniversary day, Niikura san (the owner of Mine’s) let the famous Tarzan Yamada drive in his R35 GT-R. He really got the car going and managed a 1:52.8 on the Fuji Speedway. It’s not a record breaking time but it sure is a benchmark for the other Japanese Tuners and their R35’s.

Thanks to Kanzen Performance for the pictures

Yashio Z33 New design for D1SL

Yashio boss Okachan has designed a new livery for his Z33 that he pilotes in the Street Legal D1 class. It now looks the same as the livery that can be found on the S15 that he drives in the D1GP.

In the first photo you see how it looked until now.

Nostalgic Nissan 240ZG

Auto Otaku had another great post about a classic car meeting organised by JCCA. This organisation is exclusive for Japanese classic cars.

This Nissan 240ZG was also present and I must admit, I love it. The story behind this G version is that Nissan wanted to race the 240Z in the group 4 class. This was the front runner of the now infamous Group B. So the 240Z had to be homologated for this race so they came up with the 240ZG.

This G version had a more aerodynamical front that was made out of fibre glass, wider wheel arches, headlights with covers of acrylic glass and wingmirrors mounted on the front arches. The car was only sold in Japan.
