Top Secret’s Nardo Challenge

During the last Tokyo Auto Salon Top Secret announced that they will try to break the 400km/h (248mp/h) on the Nardo Circuit in Italy. The circuit is 12,6km long and is build as a oval with a 22% curvature.

Top Secret will attempt this with their V12 Supra. On the pictures you can see the new livery of the car. It is being said that Smokey already got to a top speed of 200mp/h without any problem. So it looks promising, I’m sure they will succeed in this endeavour.

Looking forward to the results and offcourse the video’s

Thanks to Ben from Bulletproof Automotive for sitting on top of things

D1GP USA Season cancelled

A little voice in the back of my head was telling me this was gonna happen. I was at the first outing of the D1 in Europe, at that time it was special and everybody wanted to be a part of it.

Then came the rumors and the truth and now it has come to this. It is sad but maybe it is for the best. Let the D1GP concentrate on their own market.

D1 GRAND PRIX ANNOUNCES THE CANCELATION OF 2008 POINTS SERIES

TORRANCE, CA (February 10, 2008) – D1 Grand Prix USA has announced the cancellation of 2008 point series events.

Due to issues and timing from the Japan series, the D1 Grand Prix USA series is being cancelled for the 2008 year. After a successful championship event last November at Irwindale Speedway, we vigorously attempted to launch the 2008 U.S. series but have been unable to due to Japan’s delay on decisions and their focus on the Japan series. Our goal is to continue elevating and expanding the drift culture to the world. But at this time the official word from Japan is to focus on the Japan series for 2008.

It has been formally decided not to hold an event series in the U.S. but the “All Star World Championship” in November at Irwindale speedway is still scheduled to take place.

D1 Grand Prix apologizes for the series cancellation in the U.S. and plans to return the series next year.

Thank you D1 Fans.

You see alot of cars that come from the land of the rising sun. But offcourse there are others that can build nice and competitive cars. The cars you see here are from friends that live in Holland. I consider these cars the best that Holland has to offer. I will show you some more cars in the future that roam the Dutch highways

Nagisa Auto and their R35 GT-R

Nagisa Auto also got a new R35 GT-R in a nice silver finish. The car is rolling on new rims made by SSR. The rims are called the Speed Star Werfen GT-03. I think they look good on the R35 at least alot better than other designs I’ve seen on the R35.

Maybe it is even more interesting in what Nagisa Auto is going to do with their R35. If it is going to be as good as their R34 then I cant wait to see it finished.

Tsukuba Circuit

Everybody that loves Japanese cars and especially tuned Japanese cars knows the Tsukuba Circuit. The circuit is being used every weekend for different kind of events. The most popular events are the Time Attack and open race days.

The fastest car on Tsukuba is the HKS CT230R with a time 0:53:58 driven by Nobuteru Taniguchi. This car has a OEM frame but the rest of the car is made completely out of carbon.

What most people don’t know is that Tsukuba consists of 3 circuits, one called the TC2000 (2070m) and the other TC1000 (1039m). The third track is an oval. The TC2000 track is featured in numerous race games like Gran Turismo and Enthusia. The track is also being used in video’s like Best Motoring and the Hot Version video’s.

If you go to Japan, make sure you pay a visit to the circuit because you will see some of the hottest Japanese cars out there tearing up the track.

A nice view of the track can be seen here on Google Earth.

Sunline Circuit Straight Pipe

After Sunline made a new Sports Catalyzer they now have designed a new Straight Pipe that replaces the original catalyzer. The original exhasut system has two catalyzers, one in the front and one in the back. With this new system, the R35 only has one in the back. The results can be seen here.

They are going to test the system this weekend and the boss of Sunline reckons he can get more than 500ps with this system. The replacement is completely made out of titanium
