Best Motoring part 5

It’s time for revenge, this time Best Motoring is putting the R35 against the Murciëlago LP640, Gallardo Superleggera, Porsche 997 turbo and Lotus Exige. The drivers will be Keiichi Tsuchiya, Naoki Hattori, Takayuki Kinoshita, Akira Iida, Yuji Ide. This will be a full Twin Ring Motegi timed attack.

Just look at the LP640 in this first picture, if that doesn’t scare you I don’t know what will 🙂

Best Motoring part 4

Best Motoring is pumping out issues as if their lives depended on it. Now they have released the 4th edition. In this latest edition they will test the Amuse R35 GT-R and they will decide wich FR car is better, the new M3 or the IS-F.

The Amuse R35 GT-R will be driven by Keiischi Tsuchiya and he will try to brake the one minute barrier on the Tsukuba Circuit. We allready know it is possible because we saw the Mine’s GT-R doing it.

   

Tokyo Auto Salon 2008 Best Import Car

During the Tokyo Auto Salon, the Nippon Auto Parts Aftermarket Comittee (NAPAC) chooses the best cars in certain categories. In the categorie Best Import Car, the Ericsson M480 concept BMW M3 took the win.

Congratz to Ericsson, they sure have earned this award because their demo car looks stunning

The second place went to the HKS BMW E46 Supercharger

And third place went to the WALD Mercedes CL

Here is a quick translation of what is being said

Basically, Mizuno-san explains why the new PM platform is better, and how it actually works better with a car that weighs 1740kgs – namely by having the transaxle separate from the engine, it allows better power apportionment to the back wheels under acceleration – there is a 0.2 second weight transfer that can be used. Also, the car is set up for over 2G sideways forces. Also – what was interesting is he said “so we have laps at Nurburgring in the 7 30s… I say 30s now, but that might change next year…” As for Gan-san, he likes the car, but pointed out to Mizuno-san that the car understeers a bit more than he’d like on downslope/uphill corners.
