Garage Defend attended a track day organised by Option 2 Magazine, where they and some of their customers could take a ride on the Spa Nishiura Motor Park

They have removed the Voltex spoiler, not sure why?

On the grid together with a FD RX7, it looks really cool from the side. The black rims together with the low stance, really makes this car stand out.

Really nice and hardcore looking R32, love the colour and the black TE37.

Luckily not all S14’s are being used for drifting. This grip prepared S14A looks the nuts and goes as quick as it looks.

Nice R33 waiting to go, this car also has the TE37 mounted.

Car Magazine And their R35 test

Today the magazine Car will be available where they tested the R35 GT-R. They tested the car against the Audi R8, BMW M3 and a specially modified Porsche Turbo by Porsche itself. I can already give you the times the cars did around the track of Rockingham in England.

• Nissan GTR – 82.10 seconds with a top speed of 109.7mph
• Porsche 911 turbo – 83.10 seconds with a top speed of 114mph
• Audi R8 – 83.83 seconds with a top speed of 107.9mph
• BMW M3 – 85.58 seconds with a top speed of 106.2 mph

So there you have it, the Nissan is victorius again. Allthough the Porsche managed to get a higher topspeed it lost precious seconds around the corners.

   

Tsukuba Circuit

Everybody that loves Japanese cars and especially tuned Japanese cars knows the Tsukuba Circuit. The circuit is being used every weekend for different kind of events. The most popular events are the Time Attack and open race days.

The fastest car on Tsukuba is the HKS CT230R with a time 0:53:58 driven by Nobuteru Taniguchi. This car has a OEM frame but the rest of the car is made completely out of carbon.

What most people don’t know is that Tsukuba consists of 3 circuits, one called the TC2000 (2070m) and the other TC1000 (1039m). The third track is an oval. The TC2000 track is featured in numerous race games like Gran Turismo and Enthusia. The track is also being used in video’s like Best Motoring and the Hot Version video’s.

If you go to Japan, make sure you pay a visit to the circuit because you will see some of the hottest Japanese cars out there tearing up the track.

Carview.jp races the R35 GT-R on track

 Here is a nice video I found on the net. Carview tests the R35 on the track with a Japanese reporter. Although it is in Japanese you can see some nice shots of the car on the circuit.

I’m still amazed at how little bodyroll the car has in thight corners.

Sunline Racing R35 posts a laptime on Aida TI circuit

My good friend Piers from Japan came with some more news about the Sunline R35 GTR:

The next day (yesterday) he took it to Aida TI circuit here in Okayama and went round in 1:45:5 that’s 2 seconds faster than I have ever been in the FD, straight out of the box. Still with the ‘old’ tyres from Suzuka. He reckons he could get round Aida in 1:44 or 1:43. He says that people are coming to the conclusion that this R35 GTR is maybe the fastest factory production car in the world.

The FD he mentions is a special prepared Track car. That car is also build by Sunline Racing and I will post some pictures of that in the future.

In the picture we can also see a really nice S2000 and the new Type R from Honda

Sunline Racing R35 posts a laptime on Suzuka

The guys behind Sunline Racing have set a laptime on Suzuka. Behind the wheel of the R35 GT-R was Mr. Yamada and he drove a time of 2:22:8.

Also this car was completely standard but it was put in circuit mode as you can see in the pictures below. When you put it in circuit mode the ‘car’ says to you that when you crash the car on the circuit you will not get any warranty. So you will have to press yes or no if you want to continue to drive and agree to the terms.
