It was a good weekend for the R35 GT-R, when Nissan had the formula ‘win on sunday, sell on monday’ in their mind they sure are doing a good job.

April 13th, Okayama International Circuit, Okayama Prefecture, Japan – Sunday April 13th, the 2nd round of the SUPER GT season was held at Okayama International Circuit in Okayama prefecture. XANAVI NISMO GT-R(#23 Satoshi Motoyama / Benoit Treluyer), starting from pole position led the race from the start, accomplishing a pole-to-flag victory, to get their second consecutive win after the first round of the 2008 season. MCR 380RS

MCR is busy upgrading their Nismo 380RS, they have allready asked ACR if they could stiffen up the chassis. Now they have also enlisted Endless to provide the 380RS with a new brake setup.

ARC’s new Strut brace, you can see that it’s purely to stiffen up the chassis, Nismo allready provided for a strut brace over the suspension setup.

New Endless 6 pot brakes for the front, I guess these brakes are strong enough to stop a speeding train. The Endless technicians are doing a final check up on the rotors and brake pads themselfs.

Two brothers side by side, both owned by MCR. The red one is used by Kobayashi for the Z masters tournament in Japan. This is in a pitbox at Fuji Speedway where they are going to test the cars on track.

Here you see people from Z magazine taking pictures of the car for an upcoming magazine.

RB30 R34 Skyline

Global Auto does it again, they have another high powered Skyline for sale. This time it’s a R34 with a OS Giken RB30 and HKS T51R turbo. The car is running 800ps, that should be enough to conquer the Wangan, don’t you think?

On the outside the car is running Nismo goodies and Volk 19″ TE37 rims. Behind those Volk rims we can see a set of Endless 6 pots brakes. The suspension was supplied by Ohlins. In my opinion they are on the best builders of high end suspensions.

Nissan Announces 2008 sports program for the GT-R

2008 marks the return of GT-R to racing, following the transition from the R34 model to the Z five years ago. Continuing from last year, Mr. Kunihiko Kakimoto will be the General Manager for all Nissan related teams, and the Nismo Team Manager will be Mr. Yoshitaka Iijima.

Nismo will give technical support and car development support to teams entering the Nissan GT-R in SUPER GT. As a part of the Nissan team group, Nismo, Hasemi Motorsport, Team IMPUL, and Kondo Racing will enter the GT500 class with a total of five Nissan GT-Rs.

The 2008 Nissan GT-R has been developed with the following areas of focus:

  1. Reducing parts weight, lowering the center of gravity and optimizing weight distribution to improve handling and vehicle dynamics
  2. Using the aerodynamics of the new NISSAN GT-R to decrease drag and increase down-force
  3. Increased power and improved efficiency from the VK45 engine

So we will see 5 GT-R’s in the GT500 class.
