Hot Version is preparing a new video on what looks to me like Sendai Highlands. It looks like it’s going to be a interesting one with two R35’s, one build by MCR adn the other one build by Sunline.
Wich one will come out on top?
My good friend with his carbon R34 had a track day yesterday. He had fitted a ‘unbreakable’ Hollinger 6 speed sequential gearbox, but after an testrun the gearbox broke. Lucky for Piers he didn’t sold the old gearbox yet so they refitted the old Getrag, so he could run the car on the track.
What a menazing shot, so cool. The wider fenders really set this car of. The car uses an 2.8ltr Tomei kit with forged pistons and HKS fully balanced crank. The twin turbo setup has been replaced for an single T88 33D turbo.
Here are the new rims, SSR Type F that were specially ordered and coated because the Volk RE30 wouldn’t fit over the Endless calipers.
How’s this for an ass? As you have guessed the tires for use on the track are Yokohama A048 semi slicks Edit; I just got word he didn’t used the A048 but the new A050 tires on the track
A friend of mine in Japan owns one of the most hardcore looking GT-R’s in the world. At least that is my humble opinion. But maybe after seeing these pictures you will think the same 🙂
Complete carbon fibre wide bodykit made by Sunline Racing (SLR). A 6cm body-widening kit. Genuine carbon parts are the front nose, the 4 wings, the bonnet, the doors inner and outer, the rear wing, the bootlid and the wing mirrors. Also the car has a one off moulded carbon fitted roof, back light surrounds and rear bumper cover.
The rims are Advan Racing TCII in 18″x9.5j ET+16. This picture was taken before the engine rebuild. for the handling Piers has opted for the HKS Hypermax II suspension and alot of SLR goodies like tension rods, camber arms and pillow arms.
The car just came back today with a new N1 2.8 litre HKS build engine. A new Greddy turbo and titanium intake elbow.
New rollcage that doesn’t destroy the whole car, this car can still be driven on the road. The car is made to race and that is what it will do. Nice Nardi steering wheel and Bride seats.
And there you have it, 650hp to give it the advantage on the circuit. Together with the wait savings this car will be a serious contender for Time Attack events.
Expect some more info and pictures of this beast in the near future.
alot of tuners in Japan are getting ready for the exciting Car Showdown that is going to take place this weekend, I hope I can show you alot of pictures if the cars and tuners that are going to be present. Tuners like Top Secret, Sunline and ATTKD are allready packing up their things to head up to Nagoya.
Sunline Racing is moving their Z Masters 350z and the R35 GT-R to the event. I expect that there will be alot of R35’s on display with some new modifications that we didn’t see yet.
The show is organized by Daijiro Inada, he is the founding father of the D1GP and the Tokyo Auto Salon. I like to see this as a smaller version of that show, there are always alot of new cars on display with exciting new stuff. I can’t wait.
Now private owners of the R35 are also tuning their cars. Ben Linney from GT Culture has ordered a Sunline Racing exhaust system for his R35. The exhaust is ready and on its way to the UK. Cam’t wait to see pictures of this being fitted to the car.

It seems that ASM wasn’t the only that had access to the wind tunnel at the MIE University. Sunline also did some airflow testing with their 350Z.
